Challenge
High turnover rate and sudden increase in sales and staffing requirements.
Solution
Increased pay by $2.00/hour, removed high school diploma requirement, implemented phone screens, and started RideShare program.
Narrative
A manufacturer in Huxley, IA collaborated with QPS Employment Group on ways to help decrease turnover and quickly increase staff. QPS provided wage data of surrounding companies for similar positions, which showed that a wage increase of $2.00/hour was needed to attract quality candidates. Additionally, QPS suggested that the company remove their requirement for a high school diploma to widen their candidate pool.
Instead of onsite tours, QPS set up phone screens to expedite the hiring process and get candidates working sooner. QPS also implemented RideShare for 1st shift to assist more candidates in getting to work.
As a result of the changes, the client saw a 37% decrease in employee turnover and a 233% increase in employees on assignment.
QPS communicates weekly to share staffing numbers and current updates. The company is now sending their applicants/referrals directly to QPS to interview.
